A great organic alternative to toxic dishwasher tablets and powders. It cleans very well and there is no nasty chemical smell. So happy to know this is better for my health, and great compostable packaging too. Thank you Greenscents!

I have just started using the dishwasher powder and find that it leaves everything spotlessly clean. I love that there is no chemical smell.

The items were sufficiently clean and I would have continued to use the product, but unfortunately it foamed up so much that the dishwasher leaked water all over the floor on three successive attempts. I have therefore had to stop using the product.

I really wanted this product to work, but it just doesn’t seem to clean the pots properly 🙁

I switched to this dishwasher powder at the start of 2025 and I was so pleased with the results. Everything washes and is clean, you feel like there are not as many toxins etc. It is reasonably priced and I hope they do a bigger tub to buy soon.

This organic dishwasher powder performs well, however, if you have some hard, dried on debris (like my cocoa on my mug from my hot chocolate) I would soak it beforehand. I love the fact that this powder is organic and completely natural, everything you read on the ingredients list is recognisable and safe. It’s a relief and I really like using it

I gave the filter a good cleaning out and it worked brilliantly.
When I first used this the pots didn't come out clean and I had to re-clean them. I went back to my usual well known product but that was also leaving some pots in some areas of the dishwasher with bits ( some blue) in them. I noticed that the tablet had a blue plastic wrapper and realised this wasn't dissolving properly in the wash and when I cleaned the filter there were lots trapped in it. I gave the filter a good clean in some greenscents washing up liquid and after re-insertion used the greenscents dishwasher powder as directed and hey presto! it worked. I've re-checked my filter and now there are no 'blue bits' clogging it up. Will be re-ordering some new product and will use this from now on.

I now use organic white vinegar instead of rinse aid with the dish powder, does the job and no chemicals.

When I read about how bad for our health the chemicals in dishwasher powder/tablets were, I switched to Ecover and have used it for years (I found it as good as Finish powerball with less of the chemical smell and overly shiny glasses and squeaky crockery and cutlery) but don’t like the excess packaging. Greenscents dishwasher powder is great - I’m so pleased to have found a product that has limited packaging and doesn’t release toxic chemicals into the environment. Thankyou for making a sustainable product that is nearly guilt free!! I can chuck all the dirties in the dishwasher and enjoy unstacking the clean ones, safe in the knowledge I’m not poisoning our water with chemicals that don’t break down.

I have mixed opinions on this. We are a full on cook from scratch family and love cooking. If the pots aren’t too dirty they do come clean. I do remove and food off. But if there’s a dish with say burnt on, it definitely won’t bring clean. I put vinegar in the rinse aid compartment and went back into to the kitchen half an hour later to find water and suds coming out the bottom. I opened the door and it was like a jacuzzi inside.. I had put apple cider vinegar in, obviously not compatible. I love the idea of non toxic, non chemical but it’s not consistent in cleaning.

As reviews seemed mixed I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm delighted with this product. We have medium water and all my items came out just as clean the branded pods I'd been using, but without the horrible chemical residue and genuinely only need a teaspoon of powder. Eco friendly packaging too. Will 100% be buying again!

I so wanted this to work, but it just doesn’t. Tried all the settings and the dishes come out just as dirty as when they went in.

I have tried the dishwasher powder for the first time and it is excellent!
The dishes are fresh and clean without any feeling of residue, which is fantastic for just one teaspoon! I'm never going back to the horrible chemical ones.

Unfortunately the powder is leaving a cloudy residue on all my glasses. It doesn’t remove tea or coffee stains from mugs and cutlery isn’t cleaning properly.

I was looking for a safe, natural alternative after learning about the harsh chemical residues left on crockery, when using conventional dishwasher tablets. Wanting to best protect my family's health, I did some research and discovered this Greenscents dishwasher powder. I was sceptical at first, as I've seen some others that claim to be 'safe and natural', but hide behind vague ingredient lists and fancy claims (also known as 'greenwashing'). So I went with Greenscents, and honestly I'm amazed! It really works, it's really natural, and honestly, it does a better job than the chemical tablets! No residues left, just shiny, clean crockery.

I am new to using this product. Before purchase I spend some time checking the ingredients as I have wanted to reduce the chemicals I put out into my home and the environment for some time. There are lots of companies promising this but when you really look at the ingredients lists they aren't as advertised. So when I found this company I was pleasantly surprised and looking forward to using their products. The dishwasher powder comes in a smallish bag and you use a heaped teaspoon per wash. I have tried different temperature cycles and all have worked well at removing food. The only minor difference is the cutlery seems to retain watermarks, this might be due to the fact that i oftern leave my dishwasher overnight before emptying. For me this is minor and it means I just rub them a little before placing away to remove the water marks. Really impressed and I would recommend to anyone who wants to reduce the chemicals they recieve and put out into the environment to give this product a try.

Came with no plastic 😁. I decanted it into glass jar with a 5ml scoop. Really happy because nothing is, tested on animals. No nasties. Everything is proudly listed what goes in... No guessing.
Does it work? Yes. OK. Dishes come out clean, no residue. There sometimes is on the glasses but that depends how I put them in, and to be fair a quick rinse and wipe is, all that's needed. Cutlery, well you know sometimes with the stronger shop bought stuff the cutlery can be stained? Not with greenscents.
It's important, the no nasties, no animal testing, plastic free. I only ever use the 5ml. It's, sufficient. I don't know if what I was sent was the old version or the new one. To me what matters is the ethics and the job it does,please try it.

Using for over a week now and very pleased. No nasty smells. We have a 1/2 size dishwasher so very happy to be able to easily 1/2 the dose.

I really wanted to like this . I prince everything off before it goes in the dishwasher. Plates are mostly fine but cutlery still has food deposits and I need to rewash by hand . I also used vinegar which helped a bit with the smears but still disappointed. I'm nearly at the bottom and not sure what to try next ..

Delighted to have found Greenscents. I really like their products - above all, non-toxic but also very pleasantly and lightly scented.

Unfortunately I really wanted to like this product but it left my plates and cutlery dirty after a regular wash cycle. I did try it with double the recommended amount and it was ok but I wouldn’t trust it with a very dirty lot.

I have always loved Greenscents products but am a bit disappointed with the new dishwasher powder. It doesn’t seem to clean that well and maybe you can advise whether it works best on a particular setting. We tend to use the eco setting on our dishwasher.

I never expected such amazing results. After opening the dishwasher after my first try with Greenscents, I was amazed at how everything sparkled and gleamed. Strongly recommended.

I live in an area with very hard water, which greatly diminishes the effectiveness of many dishwashing tablets. I also try to avoid either 'unethical' companies or ingredients that cause harm to the environment. For example, effective dishwashing tablets, such as Fairy, contain phosphates which can contaminate water bodies and cause algal overgrowth (disrupting ecosystems). 'Eco-friendly' effective tablets from Ecover have ok ingredients, but Ecover's parent company, S. C. Johnson & Son, tests on animals and produces harmful products such as 'pest control' products and Toilet Duck... Plus they are all wrapped in tiny 'recyclable' plastic wraps that pretty much can't be recycled, since not many councils accept soft plastics for recycling.

Unfortunately, the only thing that actually works for my area is Ecover (with lots of vinegar rinse because even Ecover does not get rid of limescale alone). I have probably tried ALL other 'eco-friendly' alternatives, literally buying and trying out all dishwashing tablets from various companies at Big Green Smile, smaller zero-waste companies and anything that Ethical Consumer Magazine ranks highly. None have been effective, even with vinegar rinse, my dishes came out either dirty or covered in lime.

So when I got this dishwasher powder, I did not expect it to work at all. I was really surprised when the dishes came out clean, especially the glasses - they were so clear, no sign of limescale (I did use vinegar rinse). Finally, I can switch from using Ecover's plastic-wrapped tablets and stop giving my money to S. C. Johnson & Son to torture more animals.

This dishwasher powder is about as 90% percent as effective as Ecover (in my area) when it comes to removing dried up food stains from dishes. So I have to make a small adjustment and make sure to rinse the dishes to remove those larger particles before putting the dishes into the dishwasher. I tend to do it anyway as I don't want to clog up my machine.

So yea, there might be a small stain here and there when using this powder, but it definitely outweighs all the harm that more 'effective' chemicals cause to the environment. And, compared to pretty much all other 'eco-friendly' tablets and zero-waste powders, it actually does clean very well.

I’ve just started using the Dishwasher powder and finding this a highly effective product. It has only been defeated by a sausage dish that I hadn’t washed beforehand. Having read the blog about what is in dishwasher powders, it feels like a blessing to have an ethical option. Thank you
